iPod, iPhone, iPad oh my! When will they stop coming out with a newer version quicker than I can purchase the last? You aren’t cool unless you have the latest, lightest, sleekest most expensive piece of technology. I buy the first iPhone and now it’s considered icky and outdated. First it was the 3G, then the 3GS, and now the 4G. And you can just forget trying to have a good ol’ conversation with a friend. You’ll most likely get interrupted by a text message noise or a “hold that thought, it’s my turn in Scrabble!”
Don’t get me started on the absolute circus called an Apple Store. Who ever saw such a scene? All the employees are walking around with their mobile cash registers. I feel like I’ve entered the year 2030 when I walk in that store. If you think the economy is bad, just walk in an Apple store and you’ll realize, “it ain’t that bad.”
It seems we always have to be connected. Don’t you wish you could just not be reached for once and possibly disappear into an abyss of unknown? Let’s all just slow down for a second here. We don’t want technology to rule our lives. Or do we?
What phone or latest gadget do you have? Before answering the blog question of the week, it’s time you get up and go grab your latest Coke or Pepsi? book. Let’s enjoy the company of your friends WITHOUT the use of technology. That’s the whole reason we publish these books for you!
