Maybe you’ve noticed that our Coke or Pepsi? website features music in the iPod and that you can toggle the music on and off by clicking the center circle of the click wheel. And maybe you’ve written to ask us about the music you hear there. Lots of you have!

While working on the new Coke or Pepsi? website plans last fall, Mickey Gill knew he wanted to have an iPod that played real music. We went looking and decided to feature a song called, Date with New York City.

We weren’t sure who was singing, but we used the tune anyway because we loved it, and we thought Coke or Pepsi? fans would love it, too.

And we were right. A lot of you are writing to ask us about that song. You want to know who sings it and where you can buy it.

So we went in search of the artist and we’d like to tell you a little bit about her, her Date with New York City, and where you can snag the download!

Meet Stefani Scovolo, the Pop indie singer inside the Coke or Pepsi? iPod! That’s one of her albums, pictured here on the left.

Her catchy song, Date with New York City, has gotten a lot of attention from Coke or Pepsi? fans, so here’s the scoop, straight from the artist herself:

I wrote “Date With New York City” while living in New York City. I enjoyed the city so much, and was so passionate about all there was to do there, that it prompted me to write this song. I actually wrote it on the back of my ticket while riding on a boat ride called The Beast. I think I still have that ticket.

How cool is that?! She not only sings, she writes her own stuff and she plays the guitar. Stefani works very hard writing and recording songs, but she has not signed as a recording artist or songwriter yet.

She’s currently writing and recording her music independently, and we’re hoping to show her a little bit of love and encouragement because we like her music and we hope you do, too. We think she just might be on the verge of getting her big break! And success couldn’t happen to a nicer person. This is what she has to say about her music:

I put so much passion into my music. I really want to touch people’s lives and make them feel happier and more positive about life. I want the genuine joy and love I have for life to come through in each song, whether it touches one life or many lives. Who knows . . . maybe I’ll actually touch your life with one of my songs. I hope so.

I’ve been honing my craft while living in Nashville, NYC, and now LA and I’m really ready to see some major opportunities open up for my music this year.
